Bodegas San Dionisio, DO: Jumilla
D.O. Jumilla
The real story of Bodegas San Dionisio resides in a history where ancient tradition mixes with magic and mystery.
Bodegas San Dionisio was founded in 1957 and is located in the south eastern Spanish town of Fuenteálamo in Albacete. For centuries, the wine makers have developed cultivation techniques that take full advantage of the exceptionally hard conditions of the area's climate and soil. A slow ripening process allows the Monastrell grape, the most common grape of the region, to be harvested in the later part of September and October. The results are highly complex wines with a strong personality, often times complemented by other varietals.
The wines produced by Bodegas San Dionisio are aged in American, French and Eastern European oak barrels. In the depths of their cellars, with optimum temperature and humidity conditions, the wines are aged to perfection.
